The current minimum requirements for the issue of a JAR PPL(H) are |
- 45 Hours Total Flying Experience
- of which a minimum of 25 hours must be dual instruction
- 5 hours of the 25 must be simulated instrument training.
- 10 hours must be solo flying.
- 5 hours of the 10 hours solo must be solo navigation
- A valid JAR Class 2 Medical certificate.

A pass in the following written examinations (the exam format is multi choice
with a pass mark of 75% in each exam). |

- Helicopter Principles of Flight
- Helicopter Flight Planning & Performance
- Human Performance & Limitations
- Meteorology
- Navigation
- Radio Telephony

A pass in the following practical examinations. |
- PPL Skill Test (Aircraft General Handling, Navigation & Instrument Flying)
- Radio Telephony Oral
