Mass

What is Mass ?

Mass is a measure of how much matter there is in a body regardless of its volume or any forces acting upon it. Mass determines how much acceleration will be produced in a body when a force is applied to it.

The difference between mass and weight.

Mass is constant no matter where a body is (assuming nothing is removed from it), be it on Earth in Space or on the Moon. Weight is dependant upon the force due to gravity and varies from place to place.
