Chronometers
What is a chronometer ?
A chronometer is essentially a stopwatch. Like watches they usually come in two forms analogue and digital. They are essential pieces of equipment in all aircraft. They are used in navigation, particularly when dead reckoning and are one of the instruments in estimating remaining fuel on board. A chronometer is a required piece of equipment under the Air Navigation Order for all helicopters operating in controlled airspace.
